Velorki Plus
Everything that runs on your phone is free. Plus is a small subscription for the four features that need our servers or a partner account.
Velorki Plus is an optional subscription that pays for the parts of Velorki that cannot run on your phone alone. Everything else, which is almost all of the app, is free for everyone, with or without it.
There is still no account. Plus is bought through the App Store or Google Play and is tied to that store account, not to a Velorki login.
What is free#
Free, for everyone, for good:
- planning routes, with all five bike profiles, variants, the elevation profile and the surface breakdown,
- smart loops,
- offline map areas and offline routing tiles, and the downloads for both,
- place search, offline and online,
- turn-by-turn navigation with the turn banner and the spoken cues,
- recording rides, including with the screen off and in the background,
- ride cards with the charts, the splits and the speed-coloured track,
- GPX, FIT and TCX import and export, in every direction,
- opening someone else's share link.
The routing data and the search index are mirrored for you at no charge.
What Plus adds#
Four features, as listed on the subscription page:
| Feature | What it is |
|---|---|
| Strava connection | "Upload recorded rides and import your Strava routes." |
| Ride with GPS connection | "Send routes and trips both ways." |
| AI assistant | "Describe the ride you want; Velorki turns it into a route and plans it on your phone." |
| Link sharing | "Turn a route or a ride into a link anyone can open in a browser." |
Each of those either needs a server we pay for, or an account with somebody else that only a registered application can reach.
Subscribe#
- Open Settings, find Subscription, tap Velorki Plus. The subscription page also opens from the See Velorki Plus buttons dotted around the gated features.
- Pick a package. Each tile shows its price and period, and a free trial is called out under the price: "Starts with a 7-day free trial."
- Tap Subscribe and confirm in the store's own sheet.
You get "Velorki Plus is active. Thank you!" and every gated feature unlocks at once. Cancelling the store sheet says nothing and changes nothing.
The page always shows the store's own terms: "The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before. Payment is taken by the App Store or Google Play, where the subscription can be managed or cancelled at any time. A free trial that is not cancelled becomes a paid subscription."
The trial#
Where a package offers one, the subscription starts with a free trial and the app says how long it is before you buy. It becomes a paid subscription if it is not cancelled before it ends, so cancel during the trial if you decide against it; Plus stays active until the trial's last day either way.
Restore purchases#
Because there is no account, an active subscription is recognised through the store. On a new phone, after a reinstall, or if the app has simply lost track:
- Open Settings → Subscription, or the subscription page.
- Tap Restore purchases. "Already subscribed? Restoring works without an account."
Velorki then says "Your subscription was restored.", or "The store found no purchase to restore." if the Apple ID or Google account signed in on the phone does not own one. A subscription bought on one store cannot be restored on the other.
Cancel#
Cancelling happens in the store, never in the app.
- Settings → Subscription.
- Tap Manage, which opens your subscription page in the App Store or in Google Play.
- Cancel there.
Plus stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. The row in Settings shows Active · Renews on 17 Oct 2026 while it renews, and Active · Ends on 17 Oct 2026 once you have cancelled.
Refunds are Apple's and Google's to give, under their own policies, since they took the payment.
"Not available in this build"#
A build of Velorki compiled without a store key says: "This build of Velorki has no store configured, so Velorki Plus cannot be bought here. Everything that runs on the phone works as usual." That is what a self-built copy from the source looks like. Since the whole code base is public, you can also run your own relay and have the Plus features without any subscription at all.
